 Fr. Niles Gillen was born and raised in St. Columbanus Parish on Chicago's South Side. He attended Mt. Carmel High School there, graduating in 1949. Ordained a Carmelite priest in 1956, his first assignment was as a teacher at Mt. Carmel. In July of 1961 he was appointed principal of Joliet Catholic High School. Five years later he was invited to serve as Superintendent of Schools for the Joliet Diocesan School System, a position he held for twenty years.                                     

    Leaving the Superintendent's position in 1986, Father Niles  was named pastor of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church and School  in Louisville, KY, where  he served until 2002. Since December of  that year he has been  serving as Associate Pastor  at St. Raphael.

Judy Strandberg

Born Judith Guzzy in Fairview, Pennsylvania.  Graduated from Villa Maria Academy in 1978.  Earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from Gannon University in 1981, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from West Virginia University in 1983 and a Master’s Degree in Education from Duquesne University in 1996.  Professional work experience includes:  the coordination of the Continuing Professional Development program at Chatham College in Pittsburgh, PA; training teachers and volunteers in economic education for both the Pennsylvania Partnership for Economic Education and Junior Achievement of Southwest PA; substitute teaching for the Diocese of Pittsburgh and Carlynton School District and over 12 years in corporate internal auditing predominantly in the healthcare industry.  Owned and operated Twinkle Toes Ballet Studio from 1988 to 1993.  Married Rick Strandberg in April of 2002 at St. Raphael Church and moved to Englewood from Pittsburgh shortly there after.  Taught the third grade religious education class for the past two years.  Personal interests include animals/wildlife, classical ballet, sunsets and seashell crafts.

Bea Osiecki

Part time Secretary

Born in Philadelphia.   Attended St. Joseph's and Holy Family Colleges.  Has a Certificate in Church Ministry.  Taught in Elementary Schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.  Married to husband Al and has one adult son.  Came to Florida in 1997 and has been a member of St. Raphael's family since then.

Origianlly from Chicago moved to Englewood in 1967.   Worked as a Marine Mechanic, Forklift Operator, General Manager of three major marinas.  1975 Heavy equipment operator for Holt Trucking.  1985  to present St. Raphael's Church
